The Lyre Association of North America is a non-profit corporation, the mission of which is to promote the modern lyre and support the lyre community on this Continent. Some of our activities include--

  • Sponsoring conferences and other events, such as regional gatherings
  • Sponsoring workshops for children
  • Publishing Lyre Notes (a newsletter) and Soundings (a journal)
  • Renting lyres
  • Offering a music sales service
  • Working with lyre builders
  • Communicating with lyrists and lyre associations around the world.
 

Membership

If you are not a member, we warmly encourage you to join the Lyre Association of North America. Members not only support the work of the Lyre Association but also receive an annual subscription to Soundings: A Lyre Review (published twice a year) and a discount of at least 10% on our conference and workshop fees. The annual fee is $50 for supporting members, $40 for regular members. (Membership runs for one year from the time dues are received or one year from the expiration of current membership, whichever is a later expiration date.)

To join, please print and complete the membership form and mail it, along with your payment, to the address given on the form.

  Board Members

Members of the board are elected by members of the Lyre Association at the Annual General Meeting and serve for a term of three years. If you are interested in serving on the board, please tell one of the current members, listed below.
